Hi, I’m Lee, also known to the internet world as Tigwyk. I’m 22, and I live in Vancouver, B.C. I’ve been using computers since as far back as I can remember, but since I can’t remember what I had for breakfast yesterday that’s not really saying much. I’ve been gaming ever since I got into computers (and I never really got into them, I was lead into them at such a young age that I didn’t really have a choice) — I play every sort of computer game, video game, whatever. I started MUDing in ‘99, back in Grade 8. I remember that my mum got a laptop from work for when she wanted to work from home, and I annexed it. It became my machine, and since it wasn’t nearly powerful enough to play games on… I discovered MUDs. I’ve been playing on Star Wars Mud (SWMud) ever since.  I now also play World of Warcraft and have been for around 2 and a half to 3 years.

I work at Oyen Wiggs Green & Mutala LLP, intellectual property lawyers. I’m an IT Assistant there, and I love the job.

As for the code side of this blog, I got into coding when I wanted to figure out what made MUDs tick. I’d always had an interest in programming (I had dabbled in Basic and VB) but I think the concept of creating my own MUD was the catalyst that put me where I am now. Speaking of that, I am coding my own MUD. LP Heroes is an LPmud based loosely (and not so loosely) on the Marvel Superheroes RPG. It uses the DeadSouls mudlib which is constantly being updated by its current maintainer, Cratylus. I’m also dabbling in Ruby, and Ruby on Rails. Ruby’s awesome and I hope to blog about my Ruby findings as I progress with it.
